As a globally recognized institution, the FBI combines traditional law enforcement techniques with cutting-edge technology and intelligence apparatus to address and combat evolving national security challenges. The agency prides itself on a diverse and skilled workforce committed to public safety and homeland security across a wide range of investigative areas including cybercrime, terrorism, counterintelligence, organized crime, public corruption, and violent crime.
This position, which is exempted from the federal civilian hiring freeze, offers a unique opportunity for professionals with a medical or health care background to transition into a dynamic and impactful career as an FBI Special Agent. The FBI recognizes the invaluable skill sets and analytical capabilities that medical practitioners bring and invites these individuals to leverage their expertise in a federal law enforcement context. Becoming an FBI Special Agent with a medical background means more than just a career change; it is a chance to upskill and become an expert in investigative tactics and national security operations.
As an FBI Special Agent, you will be entrusted with planning and conducting investigations of potential violations of federal laws, including cases involving cybersecurity and public safety. This role requires critical thinking, adaptability, problem-solving, and teamwork. You will collaborate with elite professionals across various government agencies and jurisdictions, playing a vital role in safeguarding the nation from cyberattacks, terrorism, fraud, and other complex threats. Your clinical research and compliance skills will be refined through specialized training, real-world investigative experience, and support from cutting-edge technology.
The FBI supports your professional development with an environment that fosters growth, a robust benefits package, and opportunities to enhance your leadership skills. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $103,326 to $133,200 per year, commensurate with base pay, locality, and availability. The position involves travel and field work, requiring physical fitness to meet demanding law enforcement duties. If you possess a passion for public safety, a background in health care or related medical fields, and a desire to make a meaningful impact on national security, the FBI Special Agent role is an exceptional career path to explore. Join the FBI to protect and defend while advancing your expertise and career excellence.
