The role of Spa Host/Hostess at Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, is a pivotal position focused on delivering exceptional service to spa guests across multiple functions including reception, concierge, and reservations. This role involves greeting all guests warmly, managing spa reservations, and facilitating check-in and check-out processes for both the main spa and the teen spa. The Spa Host/Hostess is responsible for creating a welcoming and seamless experience whether servicing guests directly in the spa front of house or assisting through the reservations office. This role demands proficiency in handling spa computer systems, maintaining accurate booking records, and managing the spa desk bank with attention to detail.
Key responsibilities include opening and closing the spa according to Standard Operating Procedures, providing detailed descriptions of spa treatments and services, answering phone calls promptly using the guest's name, and ensuring the spa environment remains safe, clean, and organized. The role also involves actively promoting spa treatments, retail products, programs, and promotions to enhance the guest experience and support the spa's business goals. Additionally, the Spa Host/Hostess handles guests' inquiries and concerns with professionalism and courtesy, providing accurate and immediate responses to ensure complete guest satisfaction. Regular participation in ongoing training is crucial to maintain knowledge of current spa trends and enhance service delivery.
This part-time position requires availability for at least three full days including one weekend day, with flexibility to work various shifts such as days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events. New hires will undergo training that may require working up to 40 hours per week. The hourly pay rate for this role in Hawaii is $29.44, and select benefits related to medical, financial, and other areas may be provided depending on the job level and position. Job Duties
- Properly open and close spa each day according to standard operating procedures
- Accurately book, change and cancel spa appointments
- Review guest appointment/schedules as needed
- Acknowledge and greet guests who enter and leave the spa facilities
- Provide detailed descriptions of spa treatments, packages, services, facility features and hours of operation
- Utilize spa computers with skill and proficiency
- Maintain a spa desk bank
- Answer the phone promptly and use the guest's name throughout the phone conversation
- Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized spa environment through consistent monitoring of the locker/facility area
- Actively promote spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail as well as programs and promotions
- Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked and well-organized work area
- Handle guests questions and concerns professionally and courteously
- Provide accurate and immediate responses to all requests by guests ensuring complete guest satisfaction
- Regularly attend/participate in and support ongoing training to continue to be knowledgeable about current spa trends
