The Reservations position at St. Regis Newport Beach is a full-time, non-management role offering a competitive hourly wage of $28.50. Located at 22701 Pelican Hill Rd S, Newport Beach, California, this role is pivotal in ensuring seamless booking experiences that enhance guest satisfaction. The Reservations team is responsible for processing room reservations, managing special requests, changes, and cancellations received via phone, fax, or email. This role demands a keen understanding of guest preferences and needs, enabling the agent to recommend appropriate room types and rates while ensuring availability.

The Reservations Specialist plays a critical role in upholding the brand standards by explaining cancellation policies, special rates, and guaranteed booking terms to guests. It involves meticulous documentation and communication, particularly concerning VIP guest reservations. The position requires expertise in using reservation systems to access and update customer data accurately and efficiently. Job Duties

  • Process all room reservations, requests, changes, and cancellations received via phone, fax, or email
  • identify guest needs regarding reservations and determine the appropriate room type and rate while verifying availability
  • explain guarantee policies, special rates, and cancellation policies to callers
  • attend to and document special requests
  • respond to inquiries about hotel facilities, services, and room accommodations
  • follow sales techniques to maximize revenue
  • communicate information pertaining to VIP guest reservations
  • enter and access data in the reservations system
  • resolve problems related to guest reservation requests by liaising with appropriate persons or departments
  • monitor the accuracy of room blocks and reservations
  • enter group room lists using reservation systems and review room blocks to maintain necessary room availability
  • set up billing accounts according to accounting policies
  • comply with all company policies and procedures, maintain professional appearance, and protect company assets
  • greet and recognize guests according to company standards, anticipate and fulfill service needs including assistance for guests with disabilities
  • use clear and professional language in communication, prepare and review documents accurately, and handle telephone calls according to protocol
