The role of Spa Director at the Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills, is a full-time leadership position responsible for overseeing and elevating the spa, fitness, pool, and retail operations. Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, the Spa Director drives the strategic vision for the spa and wellness services, shaping guest experiences through expert knowledge and high-quality service. This role demands a passionate and dynamic individual who excels in both leadership and operational management within the luxury hotel spa industry.

The Spa Director leads a diverse team of therapists, attendants, coordinators, and wellness practitioners, including specialists like Ayurvedic doctors and medical practitioners. The position involves setting treatment protocols for innovative spa and massage therapies, conducting training programs, and managing budgets. Administrative responsibilities include payroll management, scheduling, inventory control, and ensuring optimal operational standards across spa, fitness, and pool departments.

In addition to day-to-day operations, the Spa Director plays a crucial role in marketing and business development by creating wellness and fitness programs aligned with guest interests, fostering strategic vendor partnerships, and implementing promotions to increase revenue and guest retention. This role requires a proactive approach to trend analysis, problem-solving, and collaboration with various hotel departments such as Public Relations, Housekeeping, and Engineering to maintain excellence and safety standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years luxury hotel spa management experience
  • Proficiency in English reading, writing and speaking
  • Work authorization for the location required
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle payroll and inventory management
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to liaise with public relations and other hotel departments

Job Duties

  • Manage and oversees The Spa, Fitness and Pool Departments and all they entail
  • Works with and supervises professional personnel such as Ayurvedic doctors, Herbalists, Medical Practitioners
  • Maintain operating criteria/spa concepts and be responsible for the coordination and scheduling of all Spa & fitness related services in relation to consistency with policies, philosophy and objectives for the Spa
  • Convey clear instructions and guidance to staff and establish working relationships that attain a high level of effective employee morale
  • Develop and enhance programs and policies to ensure employers of choice and retention of high performers and high potential Managers
  • Oversee the cleanliness of the Spa, pool and fitness as well as coordinating special requirements with Housekeeping, Laundry, and Engineering
  • Understand and implement emergency response procedures and respond properly in any hotel/spa, pool & fitness emergency to assure staff and guest safety
