Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of one year cooking experience
  • ability to work in extreme temperatures such as freezers and hot kitchens
  • physical ability to handle knives, pots, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • capability to operate kitchen machinery like slicers, choppers, grinders, and mixers
  • ability to perform culinary techniques including cutting, cooking, and plate presentation
  • ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds occasionally
  • ability to bend, stoop, squat and stretch
  • must possess abilities including grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motion, bending, climbing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity

Job Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent education required
  • minimum of 1-year cooking experience
  • luxury hotel experience strongly preferred
  • standalone restaurant experience
  • culinary degree from an accredited culinary program
  • ability to communicate clearly and speak, read, write and understand English

Job Duties

  • Prepare all restaurant foods, hot and cold, that meet specifications and guarantee attention to detail with plate presentation
  • maintain solid knowledge of food products, sanitation standards, policies and procedures
  • effectively communicate and collaborate with management, chefs, and service staff to address guest and associate needs
  • process and place requisitions properly, assist in controlling food cost and waste, label and date products properly to ensure sanitation
  • read and expedite computer tickets for service and produce production lists for efficient service execution
  • conduct inventory regularly to maintain proper par levels and assist kitchen team members as needed
  • ensure guest experience focuses on food appearance, quality, and overall dining satisfaction
