We are currently seeking a professional Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef to oversee all Back of House operations. This role is integral in ensuring that all food products are purchased, received, prepared, and presented timely and according to established recipes and procedures. As a Kitchen Manager at Tumble 22, you will be responsible for managing and training kitchen staff, maintaining inventory, and upholding sanitation and safety standards. You will play a key leadership role in the kitchen, stepping in for the General Manager when necessary to plan and direct food preparation. This position demands a hands-on leader who can command successful shifts, solve problems resourcefully, and drive the kitchen team towards excellence without compromising quality.

The ideal candidate is passionate about made-from-scratch food and is experienced in managing high-volume kitchens. You will have a deep understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment. Your ability to make quick, correct decisions under pressure and familiarity with industry best practices will be essential in maintaining smooth kitchen operations. Additionally, proficiency with restaurant management software such as Toast POS, and basic computer programs like MS Office will support your efficiency in inventory control and staff scheduling.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in kitchen management
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Help in the preparation of all food
  • Produce high-quality plates both design and taste-wise
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Fill in the General Manager in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish a working schedule, and assess staff’s performance
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
