The open position is for a Sous Chef who plays a vital role within Aramark’s culinary operations. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef is responsible for assisting in providing exceptional food experiences and maintaining high standards of customer service. This is a hands-on role that requires not only culinary expertise but also strong team leadership, safety and sanitation enforcement, budget management, and client relations skills. The Sous Chef is instrumental in training and managing kitchen staff, ensuring consistent recipe execution and food quality, and overseeing kitchen operations including equipment maintenance and safety protocols.

Job Requirements

  • Requires 2-3 years of related position experience
  • Requires 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Requires advanced knowledge within food profession principles and practices
  • Requires experiential knowledge in management of people and or problems
  • Requires oral, reading and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise and coordinate all related culinary activities
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and or demonstrates culinary techniques
