Camaraderie Clubs is a distinguished management company founded by the Co-Founder and former CEO of Travis Mathew, aiming to revolutionize the country club membership experience for the modern generation. This dynamic company owns and operates two prestigious club properties: Spanish Hills Club and The Huntington Club. Known for its commitment to excellence and fostering a collaborative team environment, Camaraderie Clubs emphasizes a culture built on the principles of “Plan, Communicate, Track, Evaluate & Adjust,” ensuring all team decisions contribute strategically to collective success. The company’s approach creates an engaging work atmosphere where innovation, teamwork, and high standards define everyday operations, making it an exciting and rewarding place to build a career in the private club and hospitality industry.

Currently, Camaraderie Clubs is seeking a talented and proactive Sous Chef to join the culinary team at The Spanish Hills Club. This role plays a pivotal role in elevating the culinary experiences offered to members and guests at one of the club’s flagship properties. As Sous Chef, you will be an integral part of the kitchen leadership team working directly with the Executive Chef and culinary staff to prepare, execute, and present exquisite cuisine. The position demands a strong focus on quality, consistency, and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring every dish meets the high standards expected by a discerning membership. The culinary operations at The Spanish Hills Club encompass a diverse range of events including member gatherings, weddings, golf tournaments, holiday celebrations, corporate functions, private dining, and club social events, making the role both dynamic and varied.

The Sous Chef assists with overseeing daily kitchen operations across all club dining outlets. Responsibilities include supervising kitchen staff during meal preparation, service, and special event execution. You will be involved in menu execution, recipe adherence, prep production, and inventory management to maintain smooth kitchen functionality. The role also emphasizes training and mentoring culinary team members, fostering an environment that promotes high performance and professional growth. Additionally, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, organization, sanitation, and strict adherence to health and safety regulations is a critical component of this position.

This opportunity at The Spanish Hills Club offers you the chance to work within an established club that is committed to culinary excellence and innovation. You will contribute to banquet functions, tournaments, holiday events, and other culinary initiatives that define the club’s vibrant social calendar. Effective communication between culinary, banquet, and front-of-house teams is key to delivering outstanding guest experiences. This role also involves supporting labor efficiency and scheduling to align with operational needs, as well as ensuring all kitchen equipment is safely operated and properly maintained.

The ideal candidate will bring previous sous chef or kitchen leadership experience preferably in private clubs, hotels, resorts, or fine dining restaurants. A strong understanding of culinary techniques, kitchen operations, food safety, and high-volume food preparation is essential. Flexibility in working schedule is required, including availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and special events. Preferred qualifications include Food Handler or ServSafe certification depending on local regulations. Physical demands of the job include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 20 pounds regularly, and maneuvering within fast-paced and sometimes extreme kitchen environments.

This position offers an exciting career pathway for culinary professionals passionate about delivering exceptional food and service within a prestigious private club setting. The Spanish Hills Club, supported by the innovative management of Camaraderie Clubs, is an ideal workplace for culinary talent committed to continuous improvement, teamwork, and exceeding member expectations. Join us and be part of a team that is shaping the future landscape of country club dining and hospitality.
