Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least two years of relevant culinary experience
- Proven experience with inventory controls for food, beverage, and kitchen supplies
- Ability to manage and schedule a staff of 15 or more
- Excellent communication skills including verbal and written
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to resolve conflicts and promote company values and culture
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Certification from a credited Culinary Institute preferred
- Minimum of two years of relevant culinary experience
- Experience with inventory controls including food, beverage, kitchen supplies, and waste management
- Experience managing and scheduling a staff of 15 or more
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
Job Duties
- Collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus considering seasonal availability and customer volume
- Plan, direct, and supervise food preparation, purchasing, and cooking activities across multiple kitchens or restaurants within the establishment
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with standards and arrange for purchases and repairs
- Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to meet established standards
- Monitor sanitation practices ensuring employee adherence to health and safety regulations
- Record production and operational data accurately
- Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies and order or requisition as needed
- Conduct inventory checks following established procedures
- Prepare and cook foods for regular service and special events
- Perform personnel actions including hiring and firing in consultation with management
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff activities
- Instruct cooks and workers in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation
- Determine production schedules and staffing needs to ensure timely service delivery
