Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • At least two years of relevant culinary experience
  • Proven experience with inventory controls for food, beverage, and kitchen supplies
  • Ability to manage and schedule a staff of 15 or more
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal and written
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and promote company values and culture

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Certification from a credited Culinary Institute preferred
  • Minimum of two years of relevant culinary experience
  • Experience with inventory controls including food, beverage, kitchen supplies, and waste management
  • Experience managing and scheduling a staff of 15 or more
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus considering seasonal availability and customer volume
  • Plan, direct, and supervise food preparation, purchasing, and cooking activities across multiple kitchens or restaurants within the establishment
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with standards and arrange for purchases and repairs
  • Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to meet established standards
  • Monitor sanitation practices ensuring employee adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Record production and operational data accurately
  • Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies and order or requisition as needed
  • Conduct inventory checks following established procedures
  • Prepare and cook foods for regular service and special events
  • Perform personnel actions including hiring and firing in consultation with management
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff activities
  • Instruct cooks and workers in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation
  • Determine production schedules and staffing needs to ensure timely service delivery
