Job Description
Culinary Khancepts is a diverse, multi-concept restaurant and entertainment group with a strong presence in Texas and Illinois. Since its establishment in 2016, this Houston, TX-based hospitality organization has earned a reputation for its dedication to serving fresh, made-from-scratch cuisine paired with elevated presentation and an unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences. The company encompasses several distinct concepts that each bring a unique dining or entertainment experience to the table. Some of the notable brands under the Culinary Khancepts umbrella include Star Cinema Grill, State Fare Kitchen & Bar, Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette, The Audrey Restaurant & Bar, Reel Luxury Cinemas, and the upcoming Leo's River Oaks Restaurant & The River Oaks Theater, as well as Hollywood Palms Cinema in the Chicago area. Each concept blends bold, diverse menus with unique atmospheres designed to leave guests with unforgettable memories.
Star Cinema Grill combines the excitement of first-run films with a dine-in-theater experience offering an extensive menu and a full-service bar. State Fare Kitchen & Bar serves up local Texas favorites with a creative twist in a full-service restaurant setting. Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette is known for its fresh coastal ingredients, Texas beef, sushi, and freshly made pastas. The Audrey Restaurant & Bar presents an elevated dining ambiance with thoughtfully crafted seasonal dishes, expertly mixed cocktails, and a warm, stylish environment suitable for both intimate dinners and lively social gatherings. Its adjacent partner, Reel Luxury Cinemas, elevates the moviegoing experience with state-of-the-art screens, plush seating, and premium food and beverage options, creating a luxurious blend of dining and entertainment. The company's newest endeavors, including Leo's River Oaks Restaurant and The River Oaks Theater, aim to continue this tradition of quality and innovation. Hollywood Palms Cinema represents the company's expansion into the Chicago market, bringing top-tier theater experiences to the area.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our team, specifically supporting The Audrey Restaurant & Bar and Reel Luxury Cinemas. This role is vital in maintaining the high-caliber culinary standards for which our establishment is known. As the Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Chef in the daily kitchen operations, coordinating service execution, preparation production, and staffing to ensure smooth, efficient, and consistent shifts. When the Executive Chef is unavailable, you will step in to lead all kitchen operations. Your responsibilities will include enforcing recipe adherence, portion control, and plating standards to maintain dish consistency and quality while enforcing food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance through diligent monitoring of food handling and kitchen procedures.
In addition, you will manage inventory, ordering, and food storage to maintain accurate par levels, control waste, and ensure product freshness. Leading, training, and motivating kitchen staff through hands-on coaching, setting clear expectations, and holding staff accountable will be critical to your success. You will promote an organized and efficient kitchen environment that meets both company and health department standards, closely monitoring food quality, ticket times, and service flow during peak periods. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow your leadership skills in a dynamic, rewarding workplace that values creativity, teamwork, and dedication.
The compensation for this position ranges from $55,000.00 to $64,800.00 per year, reflecting the importance of your role within Culinary Khancepts. We pride ourselves on creating a workplace where our team members are our most valuable ingredient, and each individual’s contribution directly impacts the company's growth and success. Join us to be part of a hospitality group striving to provide every guest with an unforgettable dining experience through unmatched hospitality and the highest quality food and beverages.
