Job Requirements

  • culinary education and/or on-the-job training with relevant kitchen experience
  • experience working with sushi and sushi rolling techniques
  • strong leadership skills with experience managing kitchen teams
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
  • proficiency in food safety and sanitation regulations
  • effective communication and organizational skills
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • capability to manage inventory and ordering processes
  • knowledge of menu planning and food presentation

  • experience working with sushi

  • creative and innovative thinking
  • exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • experience with training, basic financial management, and customer service
  • proficient in general computer knowledge
  • a true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment
  • capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
  • culinary education and/or on-the-job training with in-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations and cooking techniques
  • availability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • menu planning and assisting with the plating presentation
  • ensuring that all food meets the highest quality standards and is served on time
  • hiring and training of kitchen staff to prepare and cook all menu items
  • collaborating with restaurant operations team
  • optimizing staff productivity
  • manage kitchen workflow during peak times or when a station needs additional support
  • managing product inventory and placing orders as needed
  • ensuring best practices are followed for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • monitoring new industry trends
  • incorporating feedback from staff and guests to make improvements
  • manage scheduling, payroll, coaching, training, and development of team members
  • ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt standards
