Job Description
AdventHealth is a renowned and faith-based healthcare organization committed to extending the healing ministry of Christ. With a mission rooted in compassion, respect, and whole-person care, AdventHealth serves communities by promoting health and wellness in body, mind, and spirit. This well-established organization values diversity and inclusivity, offering a supportive environment where employees are encouraged to grow both professionally and spiritually while contributing meaningfully to patient care and community well-being.
Located in Altamonte Springs, Florida, AdventHealth offers a full-time position with a competitive salary range between $41,096.13 and $76,427.64. Working with AdventHealth means belonging to a community that values every individual’s unique experiences and contributions to the healthcare mission.
The position available is that of a Food Service Manager, a vital role responsible for overseeing food quality, freshness, presentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. The successful candidate will monitor food labeling, rotation, and portion control practices, helping to maintain exceptional culinary standards required in a healthcare setting.
Key responsibilities include planning and requisitioning daily food supplies, managing production schedules to ensure the availability of hot and cold menu items across cafeteria, patient, and unit stocking needs, and maintaining organized workstations and tray lines. The role also involves promptly addressing any equipment or inventory issues, leading food preparation to meet standardized recipes and patient-specific dietary guidelines, and ensuring consistent quality across all service areas.
This position requires operation and oversight of commercial kitchen equipment, ensuring that safety protocols and food handling standards are consistently followed by staff members to deliver high-quality meals. The Food Service Manager also coordinates closely with various departments to meet both daily and special function requirements, playing a critical part in the smooth running of food service operations.
AdventHealth provides extensive benefits from day one, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. Employees receive paid time off starting the first day, and are eligible to participate in a 403-B retirement plan. The organization supports work-life balance through four weeks of fully paid parental leave, career development opportunities, whole person well-being resources, and mental health support. Unique benefits such as pet insurance underline AdventHealth’s commitment to holistic employee care.
This rewarding career opportunity is ideal for professionals with at least three years of relevant experience in food service operations, recipe development, and supervisory roles. The role demands a strong knowledge of purchasing operations, budgetary control, meat cutting, garnishing, soup stocks, and overall product knowledge. Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English and possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Educational requirements include at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree preferred.
ServeSafe Certification is mandatory, and candidates with supervisory experience in a relevant setting, operational supervision, personnel supervision, quality control, inventory systems, and fiscal management will be given preference.
AdventHealth complies with all federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws and participates in Florida Level 2 background screening, ensuring a safe and lawful working environment. This role is a compelling opportunity for food service management professionals seeking to make a meaningful impact in healthcare while benefiting from a supportive and values-driven workplace.
