We are currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As the second-in-command in the kitchen, the Sous Chef plays an essential role in planning and directing food preparation, overseeing kitchen staff, and maintaining quality control. This leadership position requires managing daily kitchen operations, swiftly resolving problems, and taking charge during busy or challenging moments. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to execute Sunda's culinary vision which involves modernizing culturally significant dishes from Southeast Asia by upgrading ingredients, techniques, and presentation to create a new and captivating tasting experience.
This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 annually, dependent on experience. Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Sous Chef or in a comparable kitchen leadership role
- Culinary degree or relevant professional certification
- Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage diverse kitchen teams
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic culinary environment
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training
- Strong leadership and team management skills

Job Duties
