The role of Sous Chef at Sullivans Steakhouse is a critical one, serving as a key leadership position within the kitchen brigade. The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef by overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations and ensuring that culinary standards meet the high quality and consistency expected by the restaurant. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven culinary experience in a professional kitchen
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to stand for long periods and handle physical demands of kitchen work
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills

Job Duties
- Assist Executive Chef when Executive Chef is present and act on behalf of Executive Chef when Executive Chef is absent in organizing, training, and employee management
- Assist Executive Chef to prepare necessary data for applicable parts of the budget
- Project annual food, labor, and other costs and monitor actual financial results
- Take corrective action as necessary to help assure that financial goals are met
- Regularly create unique dishes and menu items for daily features and specialty events
- Consult with guests to meet dietary restrictions and palate preferences
