The Culinary Supervisor position at LifeWorks Restaurant Group offers a dynamic role within this vibrant team. This role is pivotal in coordinating, planning, and supervising all aspects of food production, preparation, and presentation for designated client units. Leading with both hands-on involvement and strategic oversight, the Culinary Supervisor manages inventory, facilitates training and development of kitchen staff, and oversees day-to-day kitchen operations. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two to three years' culinary experience
- Post-secondary education in culinary arts preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible and event-based hours
- Physical ability to perform kitchen job duties
Job Qualifications
- Two to three years' experience in a related culinary position
- Two to three years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
- Advanced knowledge of principles and practices within the food profession
- Experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems
- Excellent oral, reading, and written communication skills
- Willingness to be hands-on with staff and operations
- Ability to work event-based hours including evenings and weekends
Job Duties
- Supervise and participate in the production, preparation, and presentation of all foods for assigned units
- Ensure sufficient inventory is maintained to meet daily needs, record deliveries, deal with discrepancies, and assist with storage
- Ensure proper handling of all food products and equipment to maintain food safety and kitchen standards
- Maintain cleanliness and high sanitation standards at all times
- Interview, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach, counsel staff, resolve problems, provide open communication, and recommend discipline as appropriate
