The role of Sous Chef at The Jimmy is perfect for an experienced culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced scratch kitchen environment and enjoys leading from the line. This position entails helping to lead the daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth, organized, and efficient service. Working closely with the Executive Chef and fellow Sous Chefs, you will uphold the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and execution. You will play a key role in mentoring and coaching line cooks and prep cooks while fostering their skills and confidence. Additional responsibilities include assisting with preparation, production, ordering, inventory management, and maintaining daily kitchen organization. The Sous Chef must also ensure that all food safety and cleanliness standards are met and help cultivate a positive kitchen culture rooted in accountability, teamwork, and pride in the work.

  • Strong foundation in classic cooking methods, knife skills, sauce work, and plating
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and lead by example during service

  • Commitment to cleanliness, consistency, and doing things the right way
  • Passion for food, hospitality, and continued growth as a leader
