Job Requirements
- Associates degree or Culinary Arts certification preferred
- minimum 1-3 years as Chef/Sous Chef
- minimum 7 years as cook
- ability to work in fast paced environment
- leadership skills
- ability to manage team
- adherence to food safety regulations
- ability to lift over 25 pounds
- physical stamina for 10+ hour shifts
- willingness to travel up to 25 percent
- ServSafe certification preferred
- strong communication skills
- completion of company training
- compliance with company policies
Job Qualifications
- Associates degree in Culinary Arts or Culinary Arts certification preferred
- minimum 1-3 years experience as a Chef and/or Sous Chef
- minimum 7 years experience as a cook
- previous supervisory experience in high volume, manufacturing, food production, restaurant or catering environment preferred
- in-flight catering or high-volume food service experience preferred
- ability to cook meals according to detailed specifications
- ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- strong leadership skills
- ability to manage a team of cooks
- experience with labor relations a plus
- ability to train others
- excellent time management skills
- strong organizational, analytical, communication and leadership skills
- ability to provide feedback
- experience with menu design a plus
- basic computer skills
- working knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
- ServSafe certification preferred
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- bilingual in Spanish a plus
Job Duties
- Responsible for ensuring food specifications and labor objectives meet all company and customer requirements
- supervises department for quality and quantity
- ensures items are produced and dated according to specification and coding system adherence
- keeps account of attendance, sets up paperwork, organizes each shift and assigns employees to specified sections
- orders raw material from storeroom and produces extra meals as needed
- prepares daily production sheet and assigns tasks to employees
- responsible for all food items after requisitioning from storeroom and trains employees on preparation procedures
- ensures safety procedures and cleanliness standards are followed
- manages daily production for quality and consistency
- ensures compliance with wage and hour policy including rest and meal breaks
- trains and monitors employees to maximize productivity and control costs
- monitors manpower planning and schedules employees
- responsible for employee retention and reducing turnover
- coaches, counsels and prepares corrective actions in compliance with union agreements
- reviews employee pay rates and cost center accuracy
- completes all required company training including ServSafe
- complies with all company policies and processes
