Their portfolio includes renowned brands such as Benchmark Resorts & Hotels, which features distinctive independent properties; Axiom Hospitality, their dedicated European hotel management company; and PYRAMIDWORKS, which provides integrated workplace and facilities services. Having corporate offices in Boston, The Woodlands, Texas, and London, Pyramid is positioned as a global leader committed to delivering exceptional service and operational excellence.
The company places immense value on its people, fostering an environment where associates are respected, supported, and empowered to grow their careers. Employees have the chance to collaborate directly with industry-experienced leaders while engaging in meaningful assignments and gaining exposure across a wide variety of properties, brands, and markets. This culture encourages continuous learning and career development whether one is starting out in hospitality or possesses years of experience. This particular opportunity is at the Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center, which is part of Benchmark Hospitality’s portfolio. The Deloitte University Hotel is a high-end, private hotel and conference center located in Westlake, Texas, near Keller, Southlake, and Roanoke. It is a closed facility exclusively for professional clientele, accommodating 1,400 single-occupancy rooms without suites. The property boasts nine restaurants and lounges, including well-known coffee brands like Starbucks and Seattle's Best Coffee, plus three sit-down restaurants offering varied cuisines. Its facilities also include expansive meeting spaces totaling 200,000 square feet, featuring ballrooms, an amphitheater, and multiple classrooms. For wellness and recreation, the property offers a fitness center, jogging trails, and sports fields accessible to associates.
The Sous Chef role at Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center focuses on ensuring the smooth daily production operations within one of the property’s four kitchens: Banquet Kitchen (high-volume, serving large events and the Associate Cafeteria), Market Restaurant (buffet-style world fair cuisine), Albero Restaurant (classic Italian fare), and Ember Restaurant (Latin steakhouse specialties). Responsibilities include supervising kitchen staff, ordering supplies, assisting in menu development, and maintaining food quality and consistency. This position requires recruiting, training, coaching, and performance evaluation of culinary team members along with schedule creation and approval of staff time off.
The environment prioritizes associate well-being, offering an employee-focused culture with various events, and benefits such as holiday pay, vacation and sick days, weekly pay, leadership and career development programs, free lunches, medical insurance eligibility, employer matching 401k, tuition reimbursement, free uniforms with laundering, free on-site parking, and discounted rates at Benchmark Hospitality hotels.
