The role of Sous Chef at Leaf Restaurant & Bar is a pivotal leadership position within the kitchen team, offered as a full-time, on-site opportunity in Easton, PA. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in a professional kitchen environment
- Culinary training or ServSafe certification
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Proven ability to work under pressure and maintain workflow
- Leadership experience in kitchen operations preferred
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak-volume events
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen required
- Previous experience as a lead line cook, kitchen lead, Sous Chef, or similar back-of-house leadership role preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, knife skills, and core cooking techniques required
- Ability to work under pressure, maintain urgency, reinforce standards, and help solve problems in real time
- Culinary training, formal kitchen training, or ServSafe certification is required
Job Duties
- Support the Head Chef in the daily leadership and execution of kitchen operations
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items to recipe, presentation, and quality standards
- Help direct prep and line staff during service to keep the kitchen organized, efficient, and on pace
- Assist with training, coaching, and reinforcing standards for recipes, plating, sanitation, and kitchen discipline
- Support inventory, prep control, receiving, line checks, and overall station readiness
- Maintain consistency, food quality, cleanliness, and smooth service flow across the kitchen
