JOEY Restaurants is an equal employment opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and reasonable accommodation for qualified applicants.
As a Sous Chef at JOEY Restaurants, you will play an instrumental role in contributing to the success of a multi-million-dollar dining establishment. This full-time position, offering an annual salary range of $70,304 to $90,000, involves leading your culinary team in delivering consistent and exceptional food quality and experience to guests. As a key leader in the kitchen, you will be accountable for managing the preparation of ingredients, overseeing cooking processes in alignment with JOEY's recipe standards, and maintaining high standards for sanitation and safety. Additionally, you will monitor and control labor budgets, food costs, and operational areas, ensuring that the kitchen environment remains clean, organized, and efficient.
The Sous Chef will serve not only as an operational leader but also as a mentor and coach, inspiring team members to strive for growth and mastery in their culinary skills and knowledge. Your leadership extends to recruitment, training, and development initiatives that enhance team performance and promote a culture of healthy competition, integrity, and respect. Your role includes effective communication of daily goals and feedback to the team, ensuring alignment with the brand’s service standards and guest expectations.
Success in this role requires a passion for hospitality, a genuine demeanor, and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to thrive in fast-paced environments. Physical endurance is necessary due to the dynamic nature of kitchen work including prolonged standing, bending, and lifting. JOEY Restaurants values individuals who demonstrate confidence, humility, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to quality and service excellence.
The position offers comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans, as well as employee assistance programs, paid vacation and sick leave, referral bonuses, and employee discounts.
