Morrison Healthcare is actively seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Sous Chef at Palm Bay Hospital located at 1425 Malabar Road North East, Palm Bay, FL. This role plays a vital part in supporting the Executive Chef and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by assisting in food preparation and cooking, coordinating staff activities, and upholding high culinary standards. The Sous Chef is tasked with supervising kitchen staff, managing food safety compliance, and maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the food preparation area. Job Requirements
- minimum one year of previous culinary experience
- ability to work full time including weekends
- willingness to comply with all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
- eligibility to pass Florida Level 2 background screening if required
- ability to work varied shifts
- willingness to participate in company-provided training and development
- possession of or ability to obtain necessary food handling certifications if applicable

Job Duties
- cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards
- ensure all deadlines are met based on production orders
- supervise hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and disciplinary actions
- store food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
- ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
- maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils
- clean workstation thoroughly before leaving area
- keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with all sanitation, safety, production and merchandising requirements
- interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- relay relevant information directly to supervisor
- demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers
- keep up with peak production and service hours
- monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
- track product production, consumption and waste
- inform supervisor when supplies or product are low
- perform other duties as assigned
