The full-time Sous Chef position, located at Edwards Lifesciences in Draper, Utah, offers a competitive pay rate of $24.00 per hour. This role focuses on assisting the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking food according to approved recipes and production standards. The Sous Chef plays a critical role in supervising hourly food-service associates, managing daily kitchen and food-service operations in the absence of the Executive Chef, and ensuring food safety, sanitation, and quality at all times. This position requires one year of prior culinary experience and demands excellent leadership, organizational, and culinary skills. Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
- Ensures all deadlines are met based on production orders
- Supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, performance reviews and recommending disciplinary action
- Stores food in designated areas following corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
- Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils and cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area
- Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner and relays relevant information to supervisor
