We are currently hiring immediately for a full-time Sous Chef position located at Applied Materials, 974 E Arques, Sunnyvale, CA 94085. This role offers a Monday to Friday schedule, from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, providing a structured and consistent workweek. The position pays between $30.00 and $33.00 per hour, reflecting the company's competitive wage standards. As a Sous Chef at Eurest, you will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Chef by helping to prepare and cook foods following approved recipes and production standards. You will coordinate the activities of cooks and other food-service associates and manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef, ensuring seamless service and high culinary standards. Your leadership will be essential in supervising hourly food service staff, including tasks such as scheduling, training, payroll, and performance management. Maintaining food safety, sanitation procedures, and inventory control will be key responsibilities, ensuring that all food storage, handling, temperature, and presentation meet corporate, state, and federal regulations.
The role also demands strong customer service skills, as you will interact with customers to resolve complaints professionally and maintain a positive dining environment. You will monitor inventory, track product usage and waste, and communicate supply needs to management. Additionally, you will help maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment, ensuring safety and quality at all times. Job Duties
- Help executive chef prepare and cook foods following approved recipes and production standards
- Coordinate activities of cooks and other food-service associates
- Assume responsibility for kitchen and food-service associates in absence of executive chef
- Supervise hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and participating in performance reviews
- Store food following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures
- Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils and clean workstation thoroughly before leaving
