The SOUS CHEF position available at Eurest is a full-time role based in Denver, Colorado at the DaVita location (2000 16th Street). The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., offering weekends and major holidays off, along with occasional evening events. Compensation for this role ranges from $28.00 to $29.00 per hour. This role is critical to ensuring smooth kitchen operations by supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of food preparation and kitchen management. The Sous Chef helps to prepare and cook food according to approved recipes and production standards, supervises food service associates, and ensures compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations. Responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and equipment, managing inventory and supplies, and ensuring that customer complaints are handled professionally and promptly.

As a key leadership position within the culinary team, the Sous Chef is expected to lead by example, provide training and guidance to hourly associates, participate in hiring and performance management processes, and operate efficiently during peak production and service hours. The role demands strong organizational skills and attention to detail to monitor food portions, presentation, and service temperatures to deliver high-quality meals consistently.

Job Requirements

  • Prior sous chef experience required
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
  • Ability to manage and supervise food service associates
  • Knowledge of corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
  • Ensures all deadlines are met based on production orders
  • Supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews and recommending disciplinary action as appropriate
  • Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils
  • Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area
  • Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with all sanitation, safety, production and merchandising requirements
  • Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Relays relevant information directly to supervisor
  • Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers
  • Keeps up with peak production and service hours
  • Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
  • Tracks product production, consumption and waste
  • Informs supervisor when supplies or product are low
  • Performs other duties as assigned
