Eurest is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled full-time Sous Chef to join their team located at Wells Fargo, 1305 West 23rd Street, Tempe, AZ. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, providing a stable and consistent workweek. With a pay range of $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, the role promises competitive compensation aligned with industry standards. Ideal candidates will possess previous back-of-house and management experience, with a valid ServSafe certification preferred but not mandatory.

The Sous Chef role is integral to the culinary team, acting as the right hand to the Executive Chef. This position involves helping prepare and cook food, coordinating the activities of cooks and food-service associates, and stepping in to manage the kitchen operations when the Executive Chef is unavailable. The role demands a strong understanding of food safety regulations, culinary techniques, and team leadership. Candidates will be responsible for ensuring that all food is prepared according to approved recipes and production standards, maintaining proper food handling and presentation, and complying with sanitation and safety regulations.

This position also includes supervising hourly food service associates by conducting interviews, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, performance reviews, and participating in disciplinary processes when necessary. The Sous Chef will monitor inventory, manage deliveries, and keep track of product consumption and waste, ensuring efficient kitchen operations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in foodservice or culinary role
  • Management experience preferred
  • Valid ServSafe certification preferred
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm
  • Ability to perform physical duties related to kitchen work

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards

  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, clean workstation before leaving
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Monitor inventory and deliveries, track product production, consumption, and waste
