We are currently hiring immediately for a Sous Chef position – an exciting opportunity for a passionate and entrepreneurial culinary professional looking to take the next step in their career. The Sous Chef will play a critical role within the culinary team by providing frontline culinary resources and support, ensuring client and customer satisfaction. This position demands a highly skilled individual capable of managing departmental scheduling, discipline, and hiring responsibilities. The Sous Chef will also collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and culinary management to develop new menus, recipes, and oversee ordering processes.

The role involves active participation in food cost control, menu planning, purchasing, and ensuring that food quality guidelines and standards are strictly followed to maintain the high culinary standards Morrison Healthcare is known for. Additionally, the Sous Chef is entrusted with producing and executing catering events, rolling out new culinary programs in partnership with marketing and culinary teams, and managing expenditures to meet budgetary requirements. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years of culinary management experience
  • Hands-on chef experience required
  • Ability to manage scheduling, discipline, and hiring
  • Strong knowledge of food cost control and menu planning
  • Ability to work in a high-volume food service environment
  • ServSafe Certification preferred
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years of culinary management experience
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, or related food service operations
  • Hands-on chef experience
  • Extensive catering experience preferred
  • Experience in high volume batch cooking and complex food service operations preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends focused on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • ServSafe Certification preferred
  • Computer skills including MS Office and Excel
  • Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts preferred
