Northwest Medical Center is a renowned healthcare facility located at 6200 N La Cholla Blvd, dedicated to providing exceptional medical care and comprehensive health services to the community. Known for its patient-centered approach and commitment to quality, this medical center operates with a holistic view towards health, combining advanced technology with compassionate care. The Hospital houses various specialized departments including a Nutrition Services department that plays a critical role in patient recovery and satisfaction. Employees here experience a supportive work environment where professional growth and employee well-being are prioritized. This full-time position reflects the center's commitment to offering rewarding careers where employees feel respected, valued, and motivated.

The role of the Sous Chef (Nutrition Services Lead) at Northwest Medical Center is an essential leadership position within the Cafeteria and Nutrition Services departments. This individual is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Nutrition Services, overseeing meal preparation and service, and ensuring dietary needs of patients are met with precision and care. The primary responsibility includes cooking dinner during weekend shifts and preparing hot lunch entrees for both the cafeteria and the physician's lounge, providing nourishing meals that support patient health outcomes. The position requires working evening shifts, including weekends and three weekdays, making it ideal for individuals willing to work flexible hours within a healthcare food service environment.

This role demands a unique blend of culinary expertise, leadership, and nutrition knowledge. The Nutrition Services Lead works closely with clinical dietitians to perform 24-hour nutrition screenings, ensuring dietary orders are correctly understood and implemented. They coordinate with Nutritional Services Technicians to assign tasks and monitor workflow, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere committed to quality and patient satisfaction. Daily patient meal rounds allow the lead to assess satisfaction, manage feedback, and address concerns proactively, emphasizing exceptional service and compliance with regulatory standards like Joint Commission and HACCP.

The candidate will also be responsible for overseeing tray accuracy audits and managing nourishments distribution across inpatient and outpatient units, ensuring meals are delivered accurately and on time. They play a critical role in updating food preferences and diet modifications in electronic diet management systems while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety. Mentoring and training new staff members fall under this role, helping cultivate a knowledgeable and skilled Nutrition Services team.

This position offers an outstanding employment package including competitive pay and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, generous paid time off, an extended illness bank, and a matching 401(k) plan. Employees also benefit from career advancement opportunities, rewards, and recognition programs, along with exclusive discounts and perks. Northwest Medical Center fosters a workplace culture where individual talents are recognized, and ongoing professional development is encouraged, ensuring a meaningful and fulfilling career path for its Nutrition Services Lead. This role not only demands a passion for nutrition and food service but also a willingness to contribute to the healing environment of a respected healthcare institution.
