The role of Chef Manager at Aramark is a dynamic and multifaceted position that blends culinary expertise with leadership, operational management, and client relations. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Chef Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service and outstanding food experiences. This position requires hands-on involvement in managing and developing the kitchen team to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols. The Chef Manager is responsible for overseeing all culinary activities, from training kitchen personnel to supervising food preparation and kitchen operations.
Key responsibilities include training staff, estimating food consumption, purchasing food, developing and standardizing recipes, establishing quality and presentation standards, planning and pricing menus, and ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment. The role also demands strict adherence to safety and sanitation standards, vital for maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment. Additionally, the Chef Manager oversees special catering events and may provide culinary instruction or demonstrate cooking techniques to team members.

Job Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in a related position
- 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
- culinary degree preferred
- advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
- experiential knowledge of management of people and/or problems
- oral, reading and written communication skills

Job Duties
- Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities
- Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
- Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
- Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
- Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
- Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrates culinary techniques
