The position available is that of a Food Outlet Manager, a key role responsible for overseeing food preparation across all shifts within an assigned food outlet at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality food and exceptional guest satisfaction aligned with the casino’s renowned hospitality standards. The Food Outlet Manager works in close coordination with front-of-house staff to synchronize service delivery, thus enhancing the overall dining experience and contributing to the attainment of the casino’s service goals.
This position requires the incumbent to create an inviting and motivating atmosphere for guests while actively building and retaining guest loyalty. The Food Outlet Manager acts as a mentor and leader for team members, facilitating superior guest service through effective coaching and team development. Responsibilities include hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating kitchen staff to maintain excellent food preparation standards and operational efficiency. The role also involves developing and implementing training programs, managing department objectives and budgets, and monitoring critical aspects such as food purchasing, labor costs, inventory control, and waste reduction.
Operational diligence is key, with the Food Outlet Manager ensuring consistency in food quality through observation and taste testing, overseeing menu changes to enhance variety and appeal, and enforcing strict compliance with health and safety regulations. Mastery of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance, including slicers, grinders, and patty machines, is expected. This position demands regular attendance at meetings and the successful execution of follow-up tasks. The role embodies a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation in both work and public areas.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of eight years of progressive food preparation experience or a combination of an accredited culinary arts degree or apprenticeship and four years of experience, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local food laws, safety standards, and kitchen operations is essential. The manager must exhibit exemplary organizational, budgeting, and leadership skills, aligning team efforts with financial and operational targets.
Additional requirements include the ability to pass background checks and drug screenings, meet licensing standards regulated by federal and state bodies, and be at least 21 years old. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including holidays and weekends, is necessary to meet operational demands. Job Requirements
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses and certifications per federal, state and Virginia Lottery regulations
- must successfully pass background check

- must be at least twenty-one years of age

Job Qualifications
- Minimum eight years of progressive food preparation experience or completion of a culinary arts degree or accredited apprenticeship with four years of progressive experience and at least one year in a supervisory role
- strong knowledge of federal, state and local food laws, safety and sanitation practices
- understanding of food preparation techniques including stocks, soups, sauces, and various meats
- demonstrated organizational and budgeting skills
