Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a culinary role
- Experience managing kitchen operations and staff
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations including OSHA compliance
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Previous sous chef or culinary leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards
- Experience in menu planning and costing
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Ability to train and develop kitchen staff
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with budget management and cost control
- Proficient in inventory and order management

Job Duties
- Directs and participates in food production operations
- Leads, directs, coaches and teaches all kitchen and food production team members
- Assists with recruiting, hiring, and training team members using approved company training materials and certified coaches
- Communicates job expectations and standards, reviews job performance, coaches and holds team members accountable
- Focuses on team member training and skill development
- Prepares daily production lists and directs food production for meals, banquets, and special events following established recipes and quality standards
- Ensures line levels are representative of forecasted sales
- Conducts daily line checks ensuring proper temperatures, portion sizes, and quality
- Ensures adherence to health and safety regulations including OSHA and food safety standards
- Maintains kitchen cleanliness and organization
- Assists the Chef in annual budget preparation and monitors food, labor costs and related financial data
- Performs administrative tasks related to cost control
- Places food and supply orders and verifies product quality
- Processes invoices as directed
- Assists in creating work schedules and managing staffing levels within budget
- Ensures kitchen equipment is maintained for safety and operational readiness
- Develops training and growth plans for team members interested in career advancement
- Enhances dining experience through tableside visits and cooperation with dining room managers
- Represents the company professionally in and outside the restaurant
- Serves as a positive example of customer service, food quality and hospitality
- Participates actively in corporate and restaurant leadership teams
- Works with Sales Manager to develop and execute banquet and special event menus
- Facilitates daily pre-shift meetings
- Maintains a log of important operational information
- Creates a cohesive kitchen team with ongoing training and communication focus
- Promotes two-way communication and recognition among team members
- Performs related duties and projects as assigned
