This impressive 384-suite hotel is situated just two blocks away from the Washington Convention Center and approximately one mile from the iconic National Mall, offering easy access to several major attractions and business venues. Known for its sophisticated ambiance and exceptional hospitality, this hotel caters to both business and leisure travelers seeking a well-rounded and comfortable stay in the capital city. The Embassy Suites, as part of the Hilton brand, embodies the renowned Hilton commitment to quality, service, and innovation in the hospitality industry, making it a reputable and rewarding place to work.

The hotel is currently seeking a qualified Sous Chef to lead and inspire its culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The role of Sous Chef is critical in supporting the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of culinary operations in a high-volume hotel environment. This includes overseeing food preparation and production, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation regulations, managing team member performance, and driving financial profitability through cost control and efficiency. The Sous Chef will work closely with a team of around 20 culinary professionals to maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service at both the hotel’s dining outlets and banquet functions.

Candidates for this position should have a minimum of one year of Sous Chef experience, preferably with exposure to large-scale banquet or party production. Demonstrated skills in task delegation, team leadership, and accountability are essential. While previous experience in a hotel setting and union environments is preferred, it is not mandatory. The position requires flexibility in schedule as candidates must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays to meet the demands of the hospitality business. The annual salary range for this position is $70,250 to $77,250, with medical insurance coverage available for employees and their families.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Convention Center supports its team members’ mental and physical well-being through various progressive programs and comprehensive benefits such as access to daily pay, mental health resources, paid time off, travel discounts, parental leave, education support, retirement savings plans, employee stock purchase programs, career development opportunities, and employee recognition programs. The company values its employees as an integral part of its continued success and fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace where all team members can thrive and grow professionally.

As a Sous Chef at Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Convention Center, you will play a vital role in maintaining the hotel’s culinary excellence while contributing to a dynamic and supportive team culture. Your leadership in executing exceptional food service will enhance our guests’ experiences and uphold the Hilton legacy of hospitality, integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership, and urgency.
