As the Sous Chef, you will play a critical role in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring meticulous attention to detail throughout each service. Your responsibilities will include supervising and leading kitchen staff, training team members on specialized cooking techniques, managing inventory and scheduling, and maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards. You will also be involved in recipe development and cost monitoring to ensure the kitchen runs efficiently and sustainably.

Job Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of experience in a supervisory kitchen role
  • Strong familiarity with Persian and/or Middle Eastern cuisine
  • Deep understanding of spices, traditional techniques, and regional flavor profiles
  • Ability to lead calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Valid Food Handler certification
  • Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years of experience in a supervisory kitchen role

Job Duties

  • Supervise and lead kitchen staff during service, providing strong, hands-on leadership
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, flavor balance, and plating execution
  • Train and mentor kitchen team members on techniques specific to Persian and Middle Eastern cuisine
  • Assist with scheduling, ordering, and inventory management
  • Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety compliance
  • Oversee prep, line setup, and service execution to maintain efficiency
  • Assist in recipe development and maintain organized recipe documentation
