Meridian Senior Living cultivates an environment where teamwork, dedication, and empathy are the backbone of everyday operations, fostering an atmosphere where employees feel valued and empowered to make a meaningful difference in the lives of senior residents. The company operates within the senior living and healthcare industry, serving as a trusted provider of quality living experiences that emphasize dignity, respect, and joy among its community members.
The role of the Sous Chef at Meridian Senior Living is a vital position that contributes significantly to the daily operations and overall satisfaction of residents through the preparation of nutritious and delicious meals. As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper preparation of the planned menu during the absence of the Executive Chef, stepping in as a leader and role model to kitchen staff. This supervisory capacity requires maintaining a positive, courteous work environment in the kitchen that fosters collaboration, efficiency, and high standards. The position demands not only culinary proficiency but also strong interpersonal and organizational skills to manage the kitchen's smooth functioning. Employees in this role work various shifts, including weekends, typically on a schedule from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., highlighting the need for flexibility and commitment.
Meridian Senior Living goes above and beyond in supporting its employees by offering a solid and comprehensive benefits package designed to cater to a diverse workforce. Benefits include several medical, dental, and vision insurance plans to choose from, ensuring employees and their families receive quality healthcare coverage. Additionally, the company provides 1800MD telemedicine services accessible to all employees and their dependents at no cost, a flexible spending account for managing expenses, and company-paid life insurance and long-term disability plans. Employees may also benefit from voluntary options such as short-term disability, accident coverage, critical illness protection, and even pet insurance. Recognizing the importance of professional growth, Meridian Senior Living offers tuition reimbursement and a 401K retirement savings plan, along with an employee assistance program designed to support workers' well-being. Other perks include referral bonuses and discounts at various retailers, helping employees maintain a balanced and rewarding lifestyle.
Meridian Senior Living prides itself on nurturing a culture of integrity, respect, joy, and excellence. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build a meaningful career within an organization committed to employee development, where your contributions have a tangible impact on improving the quality of life for elderly residents. Experience life-changing moments by connecting with some of the best residents one can ask for, and enjoy a workplace environment dedicated to your personal and professional success. The organization values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer, welcoming candidates who share their passion for compassionate service and teamwork.
