As a part of the leadership team, the Sous Chef at Eatzi's will fill in for higher-level chefs when necessary, contributing to scheduling, inventory coordination, and maintaining kitchen safety. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in high-volume food production and culinary management
  • Culinary degree preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to obtain Food Handler's certification and TABC certification
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Professional communication skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with composure
  • Supportive of company culture and policies
  • Willingness to occasionally travel locally for business needs

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of high-volume food production and culinary management experience
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Positive, optimistic, enthusiastic, and self-confident attitude
  • Ability to obtain Food Handler's certification and TABC certification
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent independent judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Well-organized with the ability to meet timelines and produce results

Job Duties

  • Coach, manage, and evaluate the performance of back of house hourly team members
  • Actively manage and participate in large volume food production in a fast-paced environment and operate in any food preparation station as needed
  • Maintain safety and sanitation procedures in compliance with local health department requirements
  • Establish quality and food production controls to minimize food and supply waste
  • Adhere to company recipes to ensure consistency and quality of foods produced
  • Regularly check and coordinate maintenance on kitchen equipment
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with all levels of individuals in the organization
  • Develop new recipes or refine existing recipes
  • Fill in for Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef as needed
  • Participate in scheduling for back of house staff
  • Proactively recognize and address safety concerns in the kitchen and dishwashing area
  • Assist in coordinating and participating in periodic inventory process
  • Perform all other duties assigned by senior leadership
  • Occasionally travel locally to pick up or deliver goods
