This position is a full-time opportunity with a competitive salary ranging approximately from $70,304 to $72,000 per year, classified at Pay Grade 12. As a Sous Chef at Morrison Healthcare, you will play a pivotal role in the Culinary Department's success at a healthcare facility. This role requires an energetic and entrepreneurial culinary professional who will assist the Executive Chef in managing the day-to-day culinary operations. Responsibilities include supervising food preparation and cooking, developing daily menu items with attention to quality and presentation, and supporting the ordering process. The Sous Chef will also supervise hourly associates and collaborate closely with culinary leadership to roll out new culinary programs and catering events.
The Sous Chef position is ideal for someone with a passion for high-volume and complex foodservice operations, particularly within healthcare or institutional settings. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of food trends, sanitation standards, food cost control, and catering. Additionally, familiarity with computer applications including Microsoft Office tools, email, and internet is essential for effective communication and administrative tasks. Preferred candidates will have a culinary degree or equivalent experience, progressive culinary management experience, and ServSafe certification. Catering experience and institutional batch cooking knowledge are advantageous.
