Job Description

The Heritage at Brentwood is a premier senior living community located in a welcoming and vibrant environment. Committed to delivering high-quality food and an exceptional dining experience, this establishment focuses on true southern hospitality through its casual and fine dining venues. The Heritage emphasizes a better working atmosphere compared to traditional hotels and restaurants, paying fair wages and valuing diversity among its staff. The community proudly serves senior residents and their guests, ensuring that every meal and interaction reflects care, respect, and professionalism. The Heritage at Brentwood is known for fostering an inclusive workplace where individuals from all backgrounds can thrive, feel valued, and contribute positively to the quality of life for seniors. The culture here promotes excellence in service within a supportive and structured environment dedicated to senior care and hospitality.

This hiring announcement is for a full-time cook position at The Heritage at Brentwood, offering a salary based on prior experience. The role is essential in maintaining the high standards of food preparation and service that the community is known for. Cooks at The Heritage work primarily within Fireside Grille and Southern Oak, two distinctive restaurants catering to the residents and guests. Fireside Grille offers wood-fired cuisine, American classics, and comforting dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, set in a contemporary setting. Southern Oak provides an authentic steakhouse experience with exquisite taste and an elegant atmosphere, open for dinner Monday through Friday.

The cook is responsible for preparing all planned food and menu items following the guidance of the Executive Chef and standardized recipes. Collaborating closely with culinary staff, the cook ensures the consistent delivery of quality meals that meet the diverse needs and preferences of senior residents. This involves determining appropriate food quantities and managing supplies efficiently to support daily menu production. The role demands high attention to detail to assure that all food is prepared with consistent excellence in quality, temperature, and presentation. Maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards is imperative, as is adhering to the personal hygiene and dress code established by the management team.

This role requires proficiency in the proper operation and maintenance of kitchen tools and equipment and a strong commitment to teamwork, particularly in coordination with the front-of-house (FOH) staff. The cook contributes to fostering a seamless dining service experience that emphasizes both taste and hospitality. The Heritage at Brentwood encourages skill development and ongoing learning, offering a structured yet caring environment where culinary professionals can grow. In return, employees are supported with an attractive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, employer-paid life and disability insurance, paid time off, holidays, and a 401(k) retirement plan. An employee referral bonus program and access to immediate pay options through DailyPay further enhance the employment experience at this senior living community.

Prospective candidates should be prepared for a pre-employment background check and drug screening (excluding marijuana) and should be ready to join a team committed to quality service, professional growth, and respect for seniors. The Heritage at Brentwood is an Equal Opportunity Employer dedicated to providing an inclusive and supportive work environment for all employees.
