Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 3 years experience in a professional kitchen
- prior experience in seafood or oyster bar settings preferred
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness
Job Qualifications
- proven experience as a sous chef or similar culinary leadership role
- strong knowledge of seafood preparation and oyster handling
- excellent leadership and team management skills
- ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
- passion for local and sustainable food practices
Job Duties
- foster a culture of positivity and empathy within the kitchen
- execute the daily Row 34 menu featuring fresh and local seafood
- collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to develop and refine culinary offerings
- manage kitchen operations ensuring quality and efficiency
- build meaningful partnerships with General Manager and Front of House teams
- mentor and develop kitchen staff facilitating their growth and success
- continuously evaluate and innovate kitchen practices for excellence
