Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 3 years experience in a professional kitchen
  • prior experience in seafood or oyster bar settings preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness

Job Qualifications

  • proven experience as a sous chef or similar culinary leadership role
  • strong knowledge of seafood preparation and oyster handling
  • excellent leadership and team management skills
  • ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
  • passion for local and sustainable food practices

Job Duties

  • foster a culture of positivity and empathy within the kitchen
  • execute the daily Row 34 menu featuring fresh and local seafood
  • collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to develop and refine culinary offerings
  • manage kitchen operations ensuring quality and efficiency
  • build meaningful partnerships with General Manager and Front of House teams
  • mentor and develop kitchen staff facilitating their growth and success
  • continuously evaluate and innovate kitchen practices for excellence
