The role of Sous Chef at Delaware North’s Bridgestone Arena location is an exciting opportunity within a high-volume kitchen environment. The Sous Chef reports directly to the Executive Chef and is instrumental in upholding the company’s culinary standards and operational efficiencies. This leadership position requires not only advanced culinary skills but also strong management capabilities to guide and inspire a diverse culinary team. The Sous Chef’s responsibilities encompass supervising kitchen staff, maintaining efficient food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to precise recipes, and supporting food safety protocols. This role contributes to menu development and recipe costing, supports inventory and labor cost control, and fosters a cohesive and motivated workplace.
Compensation for the Sous Chef position ranges from $56,900 to $76,800 annually, along with an annual bonus plan linked to individual and company performance or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive. Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience with management responsibilities
- experience in a high-volume kitchen or food and beverage operation
- strong leadership skills
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- proficiency with computer applications such as Word and Excel
- ability to work flexible shifts including days evenings weekends and holidays
- ability to obtain ServSafe and other food safety certifications
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience with previous management responsibilities in a large production kitchen or high-volume food and beverage operation
- exceptional skills in high-volume cooking food presentation and precise recipe adherence with the ability to lead coach and motivate a diverse team
- knowledge of best practices for monitoring food and labor cost menu development costing ordering inventory and food safety and sanitation
- proficient computer skills including Word and Excel
- ability to obtain ServSafe Food Safety Handler and Training for Intervention Procedures certifications
- capacity to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business levels
Job Duties
- Supervise and lead the culinary team ensuring production efficiency proper culinary techniques adherence to recipe standards and high-quality food preparation
- assist in hiring training and mentoring team members while creating a cohesive work environment
- support food and labor cost management prepare schedules oversee inventory control and manage ordering and receiving processes
