This job opening is for a vital role within the company's culinary operations. The position involves coordinating and facilitating all aspects of food preparation, presentation, and service procedures under the direction of the Executive Chef. An employee in this role will be closely involved in managing the quality and quantity of food produced, ensuring that standards are consistently met, and that every dish leaving the kitchen aligns with the company's high expectations for excellence. The candidate will oversee the proper rotation and use of food supplies to minimize waste and optimize inventory efficiency.

The role also requires monitoring employee performance, providing instruction and mentoring as needed, and managing staffing levels to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Responsibilities include delegating assignments, maintaining health and safety standards, and ensuring cleanliness and sanitation within kitchen and storage areas. This position demands a proactive individual who can balance hands-on food preparation duties with strong leadership, operational oversight, and quality assurance.

Job Requirements

  • One year of experience in the same or similar position preferred
  • Must be able to stand and walk for majority of shift
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 40 pounds
  • Other physical demands include but are not limited to grasping, reaching, bending, lifting, and kneeling
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to obtain or maintain any necessary licenses or certifications

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and facilitate all food preparation, presentation, and service procedures as directed by the executive chef
  • Monitor quality and quantity of prepared food to ensure standards are met
  • Ensure proper rotation and utilization of stored food to prevent waste
  • Oversee food preparation to maintain consistency, flavor, presentation, and portion control
  • Monitor staffing levels, early out requests, and overtime
  • Ensure kitchen and storage areas are clean, sanitary, and meet health and safety standards
  • Delegate work assignments to cooks and kitchen staff
  • Monitor employee performance and provide instruction
  • Administer disciplinary actions as necessary
  • Requisition stock according to business needs
  • Ensure kitchen and related areas are free of safety hazards
