We pride ourselves on our dedication to quality, integrity, and the fostering of an engaging work environment. Situated in downtown Salt Lake City, we operate within the iconic Joseph Smith Memorial Building on Temple Square — a historic and prestigious venue that enhances our commitment to excellence and tradition in hospitality. Our establishments include upscale dining options like The Roof Restaurant, known for its breathtaking views overlooking the Salt Lake Valley, as well as elegant banquet and event spaces designed to host unforgettable celebrations and gatherings. Our focus is on delivering exceptional hospitality, outstanding food quality, and memorable experiences to every guest who walks through our doors.
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef specializing in banquets to join our culinary team. This full-time position requires availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of upscale banquet service and event operations. The Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in orchestrating banquet kitchen workflows, ensuring that every dish served not only meets but exceeds client specifications and our restaurant’s high standards. They will assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and execution, supervise banquet kitchen staff across all stages of event preparation and service, and maintain rigorous quality control regarding taste, temperature, and presentation. This position demands a culinary leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-volume environments and who is committed to fostering teamwork, creativity, and professionalism.
The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of culinary experience, preferably in banquet or catering settings, and possess a solid understanding of food safety standards with ServSafe certification considered a plus. They will be adept at managing multiple events simultaneously and will be known for their organizational and leadership skills, mentoring abilities, and dedication to upholding consistent culinary standards. The role also involves close collaboration with Catering and Events leadership to ensure seamless coordination and excellent guest satisfaction. Additionally, the Sous Chef will be responsible for inventory control, promoting waste reduction, and improving labor efficiency within the banquet kitchen. This opportunity offers competitive salary and benefits, professional growth within a prominent hospitality organization, and a chance to work amongst some of the most skilled culinary and hospitality professionals in the industry. If you are a reliable, detail-oriented culinary expert with a passion for excellence, this position provides a rewarding career path in one of Utah’s most iconic hospitality destinations.
