Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required unless waived by human resources management
- Minimum three years related food service experience in baking pastry and advanced cake decorating
- At least two years in a supervisory role
- ServSafe certification required
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background check
- Ability to obtain and maintain gaming license
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand and perform cooking tasks for long periods
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work under pressure and in a busy environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, pastries and breads
- Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings, etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
- Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
- Ensure production of prep items by checking prep lists and determining daily needed items
- Delegate daily tasks to bakers ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and up to standard
- Set up workstation according to restaurant guidelines
- Ensure that the proper amounts of baked goods have been prepared in accordance with the production sheets
- Teach kitchen employees the skills required for their position including safe use and care of kitchen tools
- Supervise the production, preparation and presentation of all dessert foods to ensure a quality, consistent product
- Coordinate staff schedules to ensure optimum staffing levels
- Maintain a safe, orderly and sanitized kitchen environment
- Ensure all recipes, food preparations and presentations meet restaurant specifications and quality standards
- Coach, counsel, train and recommend disciplinary action to employees
- Monitor labor and food costs to meet budgetary objectives
- Ensure compliance with gaming, health, sanitation regulations and policies
- Inform wait staff of food shortages and provide substitutes when possible
- Organize efficient production flow and follow up on daily events
- Maintain menus and food quality standards
- Direct activities of kitchen staff in food preparation and service
- Maintain positive and professional work environment
- Lead and monitor daily production of culinary operation in assigned area
- Enforce all casino, food and beverage policies and procedures consistently
- Oversee restaurant outlets and assist with special event preparation and catering
- Assist in food cost calculations and cost control records maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and equipment safety according to ServSafe principles
- Prepare inventories, requisition supplies, and track deliveries
- Mentor and coach team members for career development
- Perform other duties as required
