As a Sous Chef, you will play a critical role in supporting daily back-of-house operations and ensuring smooth execution of kitchen activities. You will lead and inspire the culinary team with professionalism and passion while upholding the highest standards of food quality, hospitality, and teamwork. Your responsibilities will include executing and upholding all recipes, specifications, and plating standards to guarantee consistent food quality, flavor, and presentation. This role requires you to oversee daily food preparation and production, manage the ordering of ingredients and kitchen supplies, and maintain food safety and cleanliness standards to comply fully with health department regulations. You will also be hands-on in the kitchen, working on the line and prep, coaching the team in real time to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of prep, production, and station execution, with a consistent record of following recipes and standards. Experience with ordering and inventory management, food safety knowledge, and an ability to maintain a safe and organized kitchen are essential. Pizza experience is mandatory given the artisanal nature of the pizzeria, and Spanish language skills are highly desired to communicate effectively within the diverse team. Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef for a $4M+ casual full-service restaurant/pizzeria
  • Strong understanding of prep, production, and station execution, with consistent follow through on recipes and standards
  • Experience with ordering and basic inventory to keep ingredients and supplies on hand
  • Food safety knowledge and commitment to cleanliness, organization, and health code compliance
  • Emotionally intelligent, humble, and composed under pressure
  • Pizza experience is required
  • Spanish speaking skills highly desired

  • Execute and uphold all recipes, specs, and plating standards, ensuring consistent quality, flavor, and presentation
  • Oversee daily prep and production, including station setup and batch production to support smooth, on-time service
  • Manage ordering of ingredients and kitchen supplies, keeping product levels aligned with business needs and minimizing shortages and waste
  • Monitor food handling, storage, labeling, and cleanliness to maintain a safe, organized kitchen and full health department compliance
  • Work hands-on on the line and in prep, coaching in real time and helping the team deliver an excellent guest experience
  • Communicate product needs and prep priorities to the GM and culinary leadership, supporting clear execution across shifts
