The position of Sous Chef II at Eurest, specifically serving the American Airlines Lounge at LAX, presents a rewarding opportunity for culinary professionals seeking to advance their career in a fast-paced and high-quality food service operation. This role is a key leadership position responsible for assisting with the overall success of the food program and overseeing culinary functions within the lounge. The Sous Chef II contributes to menu planning and creation, implements new culinary programs alongside the marketing and culinary teams, and manages cost control measures to optimize expenditures. The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of culinary experience with a minimum of one year in a supervisory or leadership role, experience across various food service settings such as restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, or healthcare, as well as a thorough understanding of food trends, sanitation, safety, and food cost controls. Certifications like ServSafe or Department of Health are preferred, and proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is beneficial. Educational qualifications such as an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts are also desirable.

Job Requirements

- five years of culinary experience
- one year of supervisory or lead experience
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- ability to plan and organize food preparation tasks

Job Qualifications
- five years of related culinary experience including one year at the supervisory or lead level
- experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, or related food service operations
- knowledge of food and industry trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation
- supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills
- servsafe or department of health certification preferred
- computer skills including ms office and excel
- associate's degree in culinary arts preferred
Job Duties
