Job Description

Restaurant Associates is an esteemed dining and event catering provider known for delivering exceptional culinary experiences to a distinguished clientele. As an industry leader, they specialize in servicing some of the nation's most prestigious museums, performing arts centers, and corporate clients, emphasizing quality, innovation, and hospitality. The company has earned recognition as one of the best places to work, highlighted by Glassdoor's Employee Choice Awards. They bring a tradition of culinary excellence together with modern foodservice trends, creating an inspiring work environment where creativity and professionalism are paramount. As a member of Compass Group USA, Restaurant Associates is backed by one of the world’s largest foodservice companies, which enhances its resources and scope while maintaining a close-knit team culture focused on employee growth and customer satisfaction.

The role of Sous Chef at Restaurant Associates is a unique opportunity to support culinary operations at the Amazon location in the Boston Seaport. This position offers a Monday through Friday work schedule with early morning shifts starting around 6:00 AM, making it an ideal role for candidates looking for a balanced work-life arrangement without night or weekend hours. The salary range for this position falls between $80,000 and $90,000, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package.

As a Sous Chef, you will play an integral role in the daily culinary execution, assisting the Executive Chef with food preparation, menu development, and ensuring consistent quality across multiple outlets, including a café, coffee bar, catering services, and markets. This role demands strong leadership to oversee food quality, presentation, kitchen standards, and operational efficiency with a focus on food cost control. Candidates with experience in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or contract foodservice will find this environment stimulating and rewarding. Progressive leadership experience in a kitchen setting is highly valued, especially for managing high-volume catering operations.

The position also requires proficiency with Microsoft Office and email communications, ServSafe certification, and strong hospitality and communication skills to foster a positive team environment. The Sous Chef will contribute to innovative menu planning aligned with food trends, maintain sanitation standards, and collaborate across various disciplines to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Restaurant Associates prioritizes providing a supportive workplace that values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. They also ensure compliance with legal standards, including accommodations for applicants with disabilities and a commitment to fair hiring practices.
