The role they are currently hiring for is that of Sous Chef, offering a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $72,000 per year. This full-time position reports directly to the Executive Chef and plays a crucial leadership role in the culinary team. The Sous Chef is responsible for managing kitchen operations during shifts, including scheduling, planning, and daily decision-making to ensure smooth service and high standards.
The Sous Chef will leverage extensive culinary expertise to maintain quality, control costs, oversee ingredient use, and support the financial goals of the restaurant. They are hands-on with managing kitchen cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance while creating a calm and positive work environment even during high-volume periods. Additionally, the Sous Chef fosters an environment of continuous learning by providing open and honest feedback, coaching team members, and taking corrective action when necessary.
Candidates for this position should have at least two years of high-volume culinary management experience and a solid understanding of business operations including sales and labor budgets. Experience with POS and inventory control systems is beneficial, especially familiarity with POSitouch and Crunchtime platforms. Physical stamina is essential, as the role requires the ability to work long shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and enduring varying kitchen conditions.

Job Requirements
- Able to work ten-hour plus shifts
- Ability to stand, sit, squat, or walk for extended periods
- Must be able to work closing shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Able to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Finger/hand dexterity to operate kitchen machinery and knives
- Ability to withstand changes in temperature, occasional smoke, steam, heat, and work in confined spaces
- Hearing, visual, and sensory abilities to observe and detect emergencies
- Ability to distinguish product taste, texture, temperature, and presentation
Job Qualifications
- 2+ years of high-volume culinary management experience
- Demonstrated working understanding of business operations and financials
- Experience with POS systems and inventory control systems
- Knowledge of culinary trends and ingredient usage
- Ability to discuss profit and loss statements with management
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to create a positive and safe work environment
Job Duties
