Job Requirements
- 2+ years experience as sous chef or kitchen supervisor
- Culinary degree plus 5 years culinary experience
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
- Ability to lift 30-40 pounds
- Willingness to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, and loud environments
- Physical capability for frequent twisting, bending, lifting, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, tasting
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment and assist associates
- Capacity to review and adjust work for quality and errors
Job Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as sous chef or kitchen supervisor
- Culinary degree plus 5 years of culinary experience
- Proven leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work in high-energy, fast-paced environments
- Strong supervisory and team development capabilities
- Familiarity with standard operating procedures and inventory management
Job Duties
- Ensures the highest standard of food quality including taste, freshness, and authenticity
- Operates with genuine hospitality, listens constructively to guest comments, and maintains respectful decorum among team
- Trains all kitchen associates to perform their duties effectively
- Ensures open communication between managers and associates
- Supervises associates' productivity, safety, and sanitation habits
- Ensures food presentation meets high standards of appearance and garnishment
- Completes all opening and closing duties for kitchen staff
- Expedites food from the front line during meal periods
- Enforces adherence to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines
- Reports substandard conditions to supervisors
- Participates in associate performance reviews and conducts progressive discipline when necessary
- Assists in monthly food and beverage inventory
- Handles food safety and cost control effectively
- Ensures designated areas are secured
- Develops supervisory and technical skills
- Maintains quality and variety of associate meals
