The position of Sous Chef at Legends Global, specifically located at the ONT Field within Toyota Arena in Ontario, CA, is a full-time, exempt role offering a competitive annual salary ranging from $75,000 to $80,000, depending on experience. Reporting directly to the Chef and the Director of Culinary Services, the Sous Chef plays a crucial role in the daily execution of kitchen operations and event culinary services. This role demands a hands-on leader who ensures that menus are executed flawlessly according to culinary standards while maintaining exceptional quality and efficiency during high-volume events typical of arena and stadium environments. The Sous Chef oversees kitchen staff by providing training, coaching, and supervision, while also managing inventory, enforcing safety and sanitation protocols, and addressing operational challenges as they arise. Acting as Chef-in-Charge during assigned shifts or when the Chef is unavailable, the Sous Chef ensures seamless kitchen operations aligned with company policies and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences. This position requires flexibility in working hours, often including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet event schedules. Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- Ability to provide two-way communication and nurture an ownership environment with emphasis in positive motivation and teamwork
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to interact with all levels of customers and staff including management
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all staff and vendors

Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory culinary experience
- High-volume, arena, stadium, or large-venue experience preferred
- Strong executional leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Serv Safe or Food Handler Certification required within 30 days of hire
Job Duties
- Execute menus, recipes, and culinary standards established by the Chef
- Supervise daily kitchen operations and event execution
- Train, coach, and supervise cooks and kitchen staff
- Monitor food quality, portioning, and presentation during service
- Support inventory management, ordering, and product rotation
- Enforce sanitation, safety, and food handling standards
- Assist with staffing execution and labor deployment
- Address operational issues during service
- Act as Chef-in-Charge during assigned shifts or in the Chef's absence
- Support inventory counts and operational reporting
- Uphold company policies, procedures, and culture
- Other duties as assigned
