We are currently seeking a food-focused and culture-driven Sous Chef to join our dynamic leadership team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $55,000 to $65,000 per year. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and kitchen management, with experience in both fine dining and high-volume environments. The Sous Chef will play a crucial role in assisting the Executive Chef with overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and upholding exceptional standards of food safety and service.
The Sous Chef will be responsible for leading and inspiring the kitchen brigade, maintaining a cohesive and motivated team dedicated to culinary excellence. This role demands strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team effectively while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be deeply passionate about hospitality and committed to delivering outstanding culinary experiences that exceed guest expectations.
Key responsibilities include assisting in the planning and execution of innovative menus that reflect creativity and quality, supervising and training kitchen staff to ensure high performance levels, and overseeing food preparation processes to maintain consistency and adherence to recipes. The Sous Chef will manage inventory control, order supplies thoughtfully, and work to minimize waste, thereby supporting cost-effective operations. Ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations and maintaining kitchen cleanliness will be a priority, alongside collaborating on special event and banquet preparations.
Our restaurant values efficiency and quality during service, and the Sous Chef will monitor kitchen operations closely to achieve these goals. Participation in staff meetings to discuss menu changes, staffing needs, and operational improvements will be expected, contributing to the ongoing success and evolution of the culinary program. This position is located in-person in Raleigh, NC, with a preference for candidates who can commute or relocate to the area before starting work.
