Job Description

The Tradition Senior Living is currently seeking a qualified and passionate Sous Chef to join its Dallas - Lovers Lane community. The Sous Chef will work closely under the supervision of the Executive Chef and will play an integral role in managing the kitchen operations of the community’s Back of House Food & Beverage department. This role requires a professional who has a strong culinary background, leadership skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of food quality and safety. The Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen staff, ensuring timely food preparation, and maintaining an organized, sanitary kitchen environment.

In this position, the Sous Chef will be responsible for a variety of duties including overseeing menu planning, recipe development, and mentoring kitchen staff. A passion for culinary excellence and experience with food preparation standards is essential. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Degree from a culinary school is a plus

Job Duties

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen and ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest quality standards
  • Manage the kitchen staff, ensuring that all food is prepared in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Assist in menu planning and recipe development
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff
  • Order and maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and equipment
  • Assist in the preparation of food as needed
