Within this caring and dynamic environment, Provincial Senior Living is currently seeking a talented Sous Chef to join the culinary team. This role is essential in supporting the Executive Chef and supervising the dietary/kitchen team to create high-quality meal experiences for residents. The Sous Chef will assist with controlling food costs, maintaining inventory controls, and enforcing food safety standards while ensuring regulatory compliance and excellence in meal preparation and service. This full-time position offers paid training, meal and uniform provisions, access to wages before payday, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance along with a 401(k) plan with employer matching. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of experience as a Sous Chef
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Current Food Services Sanitation certificate
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and evenings
- Strong organizational skills
- Good judgment and problem-solving abilities
Job Qualifications
- Two years' Sous Chef experience
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Must maintain current Food Services Sanitation certificate
- Associates Degree in Culinary Arts preferred
- Competent in organizational and time management skills
- Must demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours
Job Duties
- Provide supervision to dietary/kitchen team and support the Executive Chef
- Assist in controlling food costs
- Assist in maintaining controls and security of all food items and supplies in storage
- Assist in maintaining and enforcing policies and procedures of meal production, preparation and coordination
- Assist in managing meal service including receiving, rotating, and inventory of products and regulatory compliance
- Ensure correct portioning and plate presentation of all menu items
- Record and maintain Food Safety Equipment Records and Food Safety Temperature Records
- Perform and assist in rotation (FIFO) inventory and security of food and supplies in correct storage areas
